What's New in Spring '25
The Salesforce Spring '25 release is the most significant Agentforce update since the platform launched. New agent templates, expanded action types, improved reasoning capabilities, and deeper Data Cloud integration make it substantially easier to build and deploy production-grade agents. Here is everything you need to know.
Pre-Built Agent Templates
Spring '25 introduces out-of-the-box agent templates for the most common use cases. Instead of building from scratch, you can start with a template and customise:
- Service Agent Template: Pre-configured topics for order status, returns, FAQs, and case creation. Includes standard escalation rules and Knowledge Base integration.
- Sales Development Agent Template: Topics for lead qualification, meeting scheduling, and follow-up sequences. Integrates with Einstein Lead Scoring.
- Commerce Agent Template: Handles product recommendations, order tracking, and checkout assistance for Commerce Cloud storefronts.
- HR Agent Template: Covers employee FAQ, PTO requests, benefits inquiries, and IT support ticket creation.
Templates reduce initial deployment time from 4-6 weeks to 1-2 weeks for standard use cases. They include pre-built actions, tested instructions, and recommended topic structures based on Salesforce's data from thousands of deployments.
Expanded Action Types
Agents can now take more types of actions than ever before:
- MuleSoft Actions: Agents can now directly call MuleSoft APIs, enabling integration with any external system (ERP, legacy databases, third-party SaaS) without custom Apex.
- Flow Actions with Subflows: Agents can trigger complex multi-step flows that include subflows, loops, and decision elements - enabling much more sophisticated automation.
- Slack Actions: Agents can post messages, create channels, and send DMs in Slack directly from a conversation.
- Email Actions with Templates: Agents can compose and send emails using pre-approved templates, merge fields, and dynamic content blocks.
Improved Reasoning and Accuracy
The underlying AI engine has been significantly upgraded in Spring '25:
- Better multi-turn reasoning: Agents maintain context across longer conversations with fewer errors. In testing, multi-turn accuracy improved by 23%.
- Citation improvements: When an agent provides an answer, it now cites the specific Knowledge Article or data record it used - making it easier for customers and supervisors to verify responses.
- Reduced hallucination: Improved grounding means agents are less likely to generate inaccurate information. The Einstein Trust Layer now includes additional validation checks before responses are sent.
- Language support: Agentforce now supports 15 languages natively, up from 8 in the previous release.
Deeper Data Cloud Integration
The Spring '25 release tightens the connection between Agentforce and Data Cloud:
- Unified Profile Access: Agents can now access the full Data Cloud unified profile in real-time, including calculated insights like churn risk, LTV, and engagement scores.
- Segment-Based Instructions: You can now configure different agent behavior based on Data Cloud segments. VIP customers get a different experience than new customers - automatically.
- Real-Time Event Triggers: Agents can be triggered by Data Cloud streaming events. For example, if a high-value customer visits your pricing page, an agent can proactively reach out via chat.
Enhanced Analytics and Monitoring
Managing agents in production gets a major upgrade:
- Agent Performance Dashboard: A new built-in dashboard shows deflection rate, resolution time, CSAT, escalation reasons, and trending topics - all in real-time.
- Conversation Inspector: Supervisors can review full conversation transcripts with annotations showing which topics, actions, and instructions the agent used at each step.
- A/B Testing: You can now run A/B tests on agent instructions to see which version performs better on your target metrics.
- Alerting: Set up alerts for when deflection rate drops, escalation rate spikes, or CSAT falls below a threshold.
Spring '25 makes Agentforce significantly more production-ready. If you have been waiting for the platform to mature before deploying, that moment has arrived. The combination of templates, expanded actions, and improved accuracy means the barrier to entry is lower than ever - and the ceiling is higher.
